Girls with autism!

Hi, I'm Yusei_Fudo, and I'm a teenage girl on the spectrum (my official diagnosis is Asperger's syndrome). I find it sad that only 1 in 10 cases of those diagnosed are girls, but it is supposed to be 1 and 4. I'm here to say there is nothing wrong with a girls who has autism. I know there is more preassure for girls to be "normal" than for boys. But, really... "normal is a setting on the dryer". So, I thought I'd ask if there's anything different about girls on the spectrum than boys... I heard that girls can cope with it better, but with my expierience of autism, I'n not so sure that is true...

Yusei Fudo, I say desserto! ...Cricket Chirps....

I do not have an official diagnosis, but I do have all the same issues my son does, every therapist I have taken him to has also made that observation. I am on the spectrum and my son is so I am also a parent.

He is doing well right now. He likes the school he is going to. He is getting the help he needs. We deal with issues as they come up.

I think it helps him to know he has a parent who really understands what he is going through. I do "get" it when he is talking about coping with some of the things he has to cope with.
