About Autism Hangout FEATURE PROGRAMS:

FEATURE PROGRAMS are a series of ongoing, continually updated, autism topics (i.e. "Key Learnings," "Beyond the Headlines", "Moving Out" or Featured Guests).

They are prepared by Autism Hangout Staff Reporters. We’ll keep on top of trends in the news as well as Autism Hangout’s Discussion Forums so you can quickly find the latest, current thinking on the topics and challenges that we face daily.

All Feature Programs have links to threads in the Discussion Forum (if you'd care to share your experience or insights with others).

"Exceptional People" - Meet the founder of Wrong Planet (dotnet), Alex Plank

I did this interview with Alex Plank, the founder of wrongplanet.net as a "Special Report", but I'm filing in "Key Learnings of Autism Thought Leaders" since he is clearly another "exceptional person."

The universe of autism is filled with extraordinarily compassionate people. But none more extraordinary that those with autism, that are dedicating their lives to assisting others on the spectrum.  Meet one of those people - the founder of Wrongplanet, a website built for people on the spectrum, Alex Plank.

"Can The World Afford Autistic Spectrum Disorder?" - A Book by Dr. Digby Tantam

"Can The World Afford Autistic Spectrum Disorder?" - A Book by Dr. Digby Tantam

Dr. Digby Tantam is one of the world's leading authorities on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's syndrome. In his newest book - "Can The World Afford Autistic Spectrum Disorder?"- his provocative title is not focused on the financial implications of autism.. but rather on the value of the contributions those with the condition can make to society ("we desperately need them!"). In this positive book, Dr. Digby also believes whatever debilitation is associated with Asperger's is less about the personal affects of the condition, but more about how poorly society accommodates them.
