I have be reading and researching various areas of autism this evening. It is fascinating to get more insights into our world and see the commonality of issues and insights we have. I have also been looking at autism services with particular reference to their understanding of the culture and inner life of autism. This is important as so many...

The watch i am wearing in my profile picture has been a stim object and was at the time the picture was taken. I ceased using it as a stim object when it's face picked up a few scratches and did not offer the tactile and visual comfort I wanted. I still have the watch and it is on my desk nexxt to the computer monitor.

This body takes some getting used to. Without looking in the mirror, I have difficulty identifying myself.
I don't know how to think out of the box because I don't see a box.
I don't have inbuilt knowledge of prejudice and don't know why people do these things to hurt others.
I never really quite know what I am and...

The term for objects we autistic people use like this is "stim objects" and their use is called stimming. We do this for lots of reasons. It is comforting, we feel happy when we stim and very importantly we are able to concentrate and...

This Weblog is terminated - permanently, due to Government & potential employers wanting "everything about you" when applying for employment or government benefits.
Whatever I have said is grounds for denial of employment & or government benefits, now & in the future.
Therefore, I ask that every physically &...

I am writing this evening. One of the books I have on the go right now. The memories I am recalling, of a holiday I took 43 years ago in Wales. I remember the sea, sun, sand and rocks of the bay below Slade on the Gower Peninsula. this memory is like a talisman I carry and on recollection I am back there with the feelings of life and happiness...

Two of my youngest children really got into their birthdays this year and that was joy for me alone to witness!!And while they may be older and me too....it was splendid to experience the happiness our family had interacting together!!We ate some pizza, chocolate cake & ice cream, personalized "homemade"cupcakes and sang...

I'm being more positive these days. About life, about my difference, but everything really. No I'm not on LSD I'm just looking at things in a more positive way. I'm through being down all the time and depressed of my difference. I am truly proud of being difference and I'm telling you folks, it isn't all bad being an...

I was on an autism training job for Autism Oxford today. To get there I had to drive, catch a bus then walk though a crowded city centre. The bus and city centre part of the journey was frought with sensory and interaction frights. They were horrible and took most of what I had to get through.
I made it with a classic autistic coping...
