adventures, not for the faint of heart

By: mbluejay Friday, July 03, 2009 @10:28:20 AM

I found this site through an Asperger's support group. IF this sounds stilted it's because I am somewhat overwhelmed by actually writing a blog.    I knew my older son was quirky, but he was often overlooked because his younger brother was out of control and undiagnosed bi-polar.   It was like living with a...

He was one of us.

By: Morpheus Thursday, July 02, 2009 @10:46:36 PM

It has now been one week and still my spirit is rocked to the foundation from the sad and sudden loss of Michael Jackson. We had much in common. We were born the same year and we share the same culture and I began to suspect he had Asperger's Syndrome soon after I was diagnosed 3 years ago as I began to learn about what it is. There is no doubt...

Endless Rain all Summer???????

By: tommy_w8576 Thursday, July 02, 2009 @1:13:53 PM

No letup in the rain here in NH. Probably due to global Warming Climate Change alteration to the "normal" pattern of stratospheric jet stream atmospheric current position. it is "too far south" for this time of year, & its path across the north american continent is abnormal, sending constant rain through the New England...

SSRI Antidepressants...A Down Side to them...

By: tommy_w8576 Wednesday, July 01, 2009 @12:27:16 PM

One issue with being autistic, is that many of us end-up on SSRI's, like Lexapro. Their down-side, is that they induce "binge cravings" for carbohydrates, which metabolize into cholesterol.:-( Being borderline diabetic (Type II late-onset), & on Lexapro, I just @ times "binge" on stuff like cookies, ect. Of course, to...

Random is my Fandom

By: Yusei_Fudo Wednesday, July 01, 2009 @11:41:18 AM

Well, I don't have anything meaningful to contribute to my blog today. However, I will say I just say the teaser trailer for the Last Airbender and it looks awesome. However, I am dissapointed that they are taking out some of the humor. That's a bit of a let down. Also, the reason I gave my entry that title is because this entry is...

Standard IQ Test Undervalues People With Autism

By: sutaparay Tuesday, June 30, 2009 @10:10:26 AM

A recently published Canadian study has demonstrated that people with autism use more visual processing to solve questions on a nonverbal intelligence test and can find the correct answers faster than people without the disorder! Hopefully these findings will now change how people with autism are taught. At Neuropath Learning we have...

Still too much rain...

By: tommy_w8576 Monday, June 29, 2009 @1:20:32 PM

The Sun may have come out this afternoon, but there has been another rain shower. Being the asshole idiot I am, I left my Ute's driver's side wondow open, & it rained on my vinyl car seat. Friday was difficult for me physically, due to having to stand behind a TV camera for nearly 4 hours @ the Miss Derry, NH Beauty Pagaent Performance. Both...

Lightning Bugs and Summer Storms..

By: KMDD Friday, June 26, 2009 @8:05:36 PM

The smell of sweet grass, blackberries ripening, cool dips in the river and lightning bugs that dance  just as dusk meets the nightfall. The bright orange sun slowly descending with the colors of an artists pallet alive with reds, purples and pinks.Fish jumping causing ripples on the stillness mirror reflecting the sky's perfect...
