When I lecture about living with Autism I speak about all aspects about what life is like when our thinking is entirely slef oriented and conceptial/creativity is our way of life. There tends to be a subject that elicits more questions and interest than virtually any other, that is the subject of meltdown. I am taking a cue from this and authoring a book on meltdowns.

To be honest the most problematic aspect of living with ASD is not meltdown and yes being misunderstood is really painful, however this is not the craziest part either, it is last minute changes.

I know you have heard about this infamous last minute changes and how crazy it makes us, but it really does and is likely to set off a meltdown if done abruptly enough.

Last minute changes are so painful it is currently beyond me to put into words how jarring and disturbing it makes us feel. I invite my brothers and sisters on the spectrum to try to express just how crazy it makes us.

The better we can express ourselves the stronger the language we create and the more profound our culture.
