One more time

Monday, September 06, 2010 @2:26:25 PM

There are various treatments for people on the spectrum and some of them appear to be focused upon preventing us from being repetetive. I think this is a mistake of monumental proportions. Don't get me wrong. We can be repetitive to the point where we are practically non functional. Of course there should be some form of a "Circuit breaker" to lessen or reduce the amount of repetition we do. However those who come from the philosophy and approach that we should be rid of our repetitive behaviors are entirely off based.

I know more now than ever how we think and how our consciousness dictate to us the desire to shape our behaviors in ways that are entirely familiar to us. I had a revelation last week about Autism cognition, the full scope of what I became aware of I will share here in the upcoming weeks however the implication of the discovery is that we are constantly attempting to create in our environment what we "know"in our mind and as such it is very natural for an Autistic individual to create that which is familiar to our consciouness. We will manifest our own reality, even if we have to do it ourselves. People have their own conceptions about how things need to go-but it is not ours so its not good for us.

The lower functioning of my brethren do not have the sophistication to vary our behaviors so we do things very repetitively but it is always in our control.

'So we do that thing one more time' Its just who we are.

Hi Morpheus:
You messaged me on my blog.
I live in New York too.
Are you aware that Patterson still has not signed bill 7000B?
This bill would force insurance companies to pay for therapy for autistic people at any age.
You can log on to to email him or autismvotes New York.
I wonder if you know anyone who works with autistic people?
My son is twenty. He is verbal and mid functioning.
My son needs consistency. He does not like of allot change.
I suppose this is repetitive behavior.
Most humans prefer consistency.
I am also on and autismsexposure on facebook.
I would like to hear from you.
