Autism Hangout SPECIAL REPORT here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rYuMpUhzUM

Text from video:

This Autism Hangout SPECIAL REPORT is about another one of the exciting features at Autism Hangout… MYPAGE! I’m Craig Evans reporting.

At Autism Hangout, you can build your own Home Page! Why is that so cool? Consider, if you’re an educator or a medical professional or a parent of a child with autism, you can find other folks like you, right here. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that we ALL can benefit through the sharing of our experiences with autism, so by setting up a home page where you can tell your stories through blogs, pictures and videos, you’re providing a background that helping others learn more about you and the challenges you face. Check it out! You can go in and see what a MY PAGE Home page looks like by clicking on the example on the Autism Hangout COMMUNITY page. That’s my home page you looking at, by the way.

And what you’re doing for you, you can also do for your loved one with autism! Just imagine the value of a social network for folks with autism! My stepson Nolan who has Aspergers is really into animals. Specifically, he likes learning about and discussing “endangered Australian marsupials.” As you can probably imagine, there aren’t too many other kids in the neighborhood that share his interest. But I’ll bet there are elsewhere in the US… even Australia. So Nolan will be one of those with autism online looking for new friends globally. Now… how cool is that!!

I invite you to take a few moments and build your MYPAGE home page. It’s easy! Then help your loved one. Social networking is an excellent way for us to benefit from sharing our experiences with autism.

Oh! And be sure to welcome newcomers to Autism Hangout. One key indicator that they’ve already built their MYPAGE home is through the listing of new blogs, found on Autism Hangout’s Home page. Check it out!

Thanks for listening. I’m Craig Evans for Autism Hangout.
