Autism resources around the globe, brought to you by Autism Shop.
Want to be a Reporter?Wanted: “Been there, done that, want to help” reporters.
Are you a reporter or media professional that’s had a personal experience with autism, cancer, heart disease or Alzheimers? If so, you’ve know first-hand the impact these life-altering conditions have on family, friends and community. Where cures and causes are important, simple insights and tips on learning to live with day-to-day challenges - from those that have been there – become more priceless than gold.
Communityhangouts: “Transforming individuals in need into communities of care.” We’re Community Hangouts, a builder of web-based communities of interest. We address individuals in need by offering timely and relevant news, commentary and social network opportunities surrounding their issue. But our hangout concept promises more; we want to build havens where insights to better living can be presented, discussed and passed on to others. Our goal is to help communities of people in need do more than just survive. We want to make it possible for them to help each other thrive. We’re looking for experienced reporters serious about a chance to combine their vocation with their avocation. If a life-changing condition is a part of your world and you would consider a volunteer position that allows you an opportunity to combine your work experience with your life’s interest, stop by Community Hangouts and learn more about us. Or write me about it now. If you like what you see, please send your cirum vitae, your categories of special interest in the above conditions as well as examples of your previous work (youtube/google videos preferred) to: cevans@communityhangouts.com ----------------------------------
About Autism Hangout:
There’s lots of info out there about autism. But it when it comes to finding insights on how to live with the condition, the information is astonishingly absent. Cures and causes are important, but for the 12-17 million directly affected by the 300,000+ living with the condition, insights into daily living are invaluable.
Autism Hangout is an online community designed to bring timely, relevant information on how to live with autism (thrive, even) to family, care-takers, educators, medical professionals and others dealing daily with those with the condition. Autism Hangout also offers social networking opportunities similar to myspace and facebook to those with autism.
We’re looking for media professionals capable of preparing 2-4 monthly video reports (length open) on either specific, ongoing FEATURE PROGRAMS (i.e. new meds, new treatments, moving on/moving out) or SPECIAL REPORTS (i.e. breaking news). Each report will have community feedback/discussion opportunities. Reporters are encouraged to become the resident experts for their chosen areas of interest.
Provided reports meet content and quality criteria (the information presented is helpful and can assist someone in better addressing issues/problems related to autism).
If you’re now living with a loved one with autism, here’s your chance to give hope and help to those coming after you… and be paid for it. If you’d like to be considered, please send your cirum vitae, your categories of special interest in autism, as well as examples of your previous work (youtube/google videos preferred) to: cevans@communityhangouts.com
Now, what we’re doing for autism, we’ll next be doing for those dealing with cancer, heart disease and Alzheimers. I’m accepting applications for reporters in those areas as well. Come help us help others. |
